FACTS Help -- Information on entering case numbers
  • County Designator: This will ALWAYS be 05 for a Brevard County Case (Codes for all Florida counties)
  • Year: This is now a 4 digit field (the first 2 digits of the old case number format were the year)
  • Case Category:
    • CA = Circuit Civil
    • DR = Domestic Relations (was FD)
    • CC = County Civil
    • SC = Small Claims (was SP)
    • CP = Probate
    • GA = Guardianship (was GN)
    • MH = Mntal Health
    • CF = Felony
    • MM = Misdemeanor
    • MO = Municipal Ordinance
    • CO = County Ordinance
    • AP = Appeal (includes old AC cases)
    • TR = Civil Traffic
    • CT = Criminal Traffic
    • DP = Dependency
    • CJ = Delinquency
  • Sequential Number: Must be 6 digits
  • Defendant Designator:
    • For Civil and Dependency cases (CA, DR, CC, SC, CP, GA, MH, and DP) this field will be 4 Xs (XXXX)
    • For Criminal, Traffic, and Delinquency cases (CF, MM, CT, TR, CJ) this field will be AXXX (or BXXX, CXXX, etc for co-defendants).
    • For Appeal cases (AP), this field will be 4 Xs (XXXX) for Civil appeals and AXXX (or BXXX, CXXX, etc) for Criminal appeals
  • Branch Location: This field will ALWAYS be 2 Xs (XX)
